Bryn and her current horse compete at FEI level dressage. Bryn has done hunters, equitation, jumpers, and eventing in her past which gives her a well rounded outlook on dressage and how it applies to all aspects of riding, for all horses. Bryn began instructing many years ago. Instructing and training all kinds of horses and riders quickly became a passion of hers. She loves working with young and problem horses as well as riders of all ages, abilities, and goals, including children with mental and physical challenges. She concentrates on creating a relationship that is beneficial to both horse and rider. Having fun while learning is always the ultimate goal. When Bryn took over Puckerbrush Farm she managed to schedule in a little bit of time for everything that was important to her...education, family, friends, and horses. Bryn has become a Licensed Social Worker and is currently working on a Masters of Education with a focus in Special Education Early Intervention. She has continued her love of training horses of all abilities and for all disciplines. She loves teaching lessons and helping riders move up through the levels and progress along the training scale. It’s an intense job that Bryn enjoys very much! Bryn has continued to compete to stay active in the equine community at large because she feels being competitively active is very important to teaching…and because she LOVES it! The many years at Puckerbrush has reaffirmed Bryn's teaching philosophy- you must be able to have fun with your horse in a successful, safe and competent way. She believes that there is no one set way to teach rider or horse to listen to each other. Individuality at all levels of training is very important to the success of each horse and rider combination. Bryn is fully enjoying working with Puckerbrush, Becky Reed, Arlo Redman and Janey Knight. Each day brings more fun, laughter, knowledge, friendships and horses. Bryn has her USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, her USDF Bronze and Silver Bars (for musical freestyles), and her MDS Platinum medal. She is an 'L' judge. She is the President of the Maine Dressage Society, Vice President of Eastern Maine Dressage Association, and Head Coach of the University of Maine Dressage Team. She has ridden under a varitey of instructors including but not limited to- Gunnar Ostergaard, Jane Savoie, Caesar Parra, Phillip Dutton, Lucinda Green, Pam Goodrich, Christoph Hess and Sigfried Winkler. |
